Radiodays North America and Canadian Music Week invites the broadcasting industry to celebrate their peers at two marquee events: the Radiodays North America Cocktail Reception, presented by Radioplayer, on June 3 at 6pm at Corus Quay, and the Radiodays North America Awards Luncheon on June 4 at 12pm in the Frontenac Ballroom at The Westin Harbour Castle Toronto.

THE PAT GRIERSON SALES PERSON AWARD sponsored by Slaight Music

The first annual Pat Grierson Sales Person Award recipient is Cheryl Foster from 93.5 Today FM, who is a results-oriented marketing executive with Stingray who develops integrated broadcast and digital marketing campaigns that deliver results. Pat Grierson was an icon in the Canadian radio broadcast sales sector known for his unique panache. The annual Pat Grierson Sales Person Award, sponsored by Slaight Music, will honour a Canadian Radio sales professional with a $5000 cash prize for top notch performance, such as someone who loves radio sales, embraces new technologies and innovation, and leads by example.

ALLAN WATERS YOUNG BROADCASTER OF THE YEAR AWARD, in memory of Steve Young

The 15th Annual Allan Waters Young Broadcaster of the Year Award goes to Luke Rodriguez from VIRGIN Radio Edmonton. This Annual Award, in memory of the legendary Radio Programmer Steve Young, recognizes Canada’s remarkable young broadcasters, many of whom have gone on to big successes since receiving the award.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

David Farrell of Billboard Canada/FYI Music News will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his longstanding career as a journalist and broadcaster covering the music and broadcast industry for more than fifty years. From journalism school to freelancing to columnist to editor to radio correspondent, David Farrell did it all before he became publisher of For The Record for 20 years, and eventually co-founding FYI Music News. In October 2023, FYI Music News content was acquired by Billboard Canada.

ALLAN WATERS BROADCAST HALL OF FAME AWARD

After more than 60 years in radio, Dave Charles will be inducted into the Allan Waters Broadcast Hall of Fame. With a heavy resume including CJBQ and 1050 CHUM, Dave is also a co-founder of Q-107 and ELMNT FM, and a past president of CARAS and CCMA, where he has helped grow the careers of countless Canadian artists and promoted their music worldwide. Now the CEO of Media Results Inc., he believes that the best days for radio are just ahead.

THE ROSALIE AWARD

Ivana Bombardieri of Montreal’s CFMB AM 1280 exemplifies the qualities of The Rosalie Award in every aspect of her work. The Rosalie Award recognizes individuals who embody the spirit of innovation, leadership, and compassion in their field. Throughout her career, Ivana has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to excellence and fostering positive change within the radio industry. She was instrumental in developing the first prototype for the 40+ ethnic radio stations in Canada. From her fund-raising projects to her tireless advocacy efforts, this award is a well-deserved recognition of Ivana’s outstanding contributions and serves as a testament to her passion and tenure within the industry
